Let's introduce the origin, characteristics, and washing method of seersucker fabric.

1. What is Seersucker?

Seersucker is a word that comes from the Persian word for milk and candy, and refers to the smooth texture of the fabric, like milk, and the bumpy texture that looks like candy.


2. History and Origin of Seersucker Fabric

Seersucker fabric, which was quickly adopted in the British colonies in the early 20th century, later became popular in the United States as well. It was used a lot in the production of cargo wear in particular. Shirts, jackets, and hats were the hottest items at the time.
It was not until the 1920s that seersucker fabric items began to be worn by celebrities, college students became the main promoters, workers in factories, and celebrities in high-end places, which is an important step in the development of seersucker fabric.
As Ivy League graduates achieve success in their respective fields, seersucker clothing has become a must-have item for politicians and businesspeople.



3. Characteristics of seersucker fabric

01. Unique appearance: There are many small bubbles on the surface of the fabric, which are uniform in size and neatly arranged, creating a unique cigar effect.

4. How to wash seersucker fabric

01. It is best to use warm water and alkaline water to avoid shrinking the clothes.
02. To prevent clothes from stretching, do not wash them on a flat iron. After washing, do not twist them by hand. Instead, lay the clothes flat and press out the moisture.
03. Dry wet clothes until they are 80-90% dry. Do not use an iron.
